We also influence through Akava's Special Branches

We also make an impact through our umbrella organization Akava Special Branches. The majority of our members work in the private sector and we are actively involved in AE's private sector advisory board. Our aim is to get our members more fully covered by collective agreements and to promote the labour market position of our members as part of our effective advocacy. In addition to the private sector advisory board, Skilla has representation on the State Advisory Board. In addition, we monitor the activities of the municipal advisory board.

Akavan Special Branches Advocacy

Akava Special Branches (AE) is an Akavian trade union formed in 1972 by 22 independent member trade associations. The union's nearly 28,500 members, including 2000 members of Skilla, which is part of Akava's Special Sectors, work in the special areas of administration, culture, welfare services and business in managerial or expert positions as well as staff members. Akavan Special Industries is a specialist organisation that provides professional services to member associations and their members. The union's lawyers, who specialise in various contract areas, provide individual employment advice and legal assistance to members.

Akava Specialties handles contract and negotiation activities for Skilla members. The union influences agreements on pay, terms of service and the rules of the labor game.

Akava Specialties pursues the interests of its members in social and social policy issues. Akava Special Branches aims to influence the appreciation and development of professional groups under the union, as well as the regulations and well-being of working life.

Akava's Special Areas are part of the Central Organization Akava and are represented in all the institutions of the Central Organization and its negotiating organizations.
